Jul. 11th, 2011 12:06 amI slept most of the day. Yesterday was a busy one and I started dragging as bedtime rolled around but had a good restful night of sleep, and was surprised to wake up feeling tired and worn out. The morning routine of dealing with the Gleevec and its side-effects took its toll and back to bed I went, lazy as all-get-out!
Bossman woke me up around 7:00 in the evening, to come and admire the camping tables he'd just finished staining. Man, are they pretty. This time, we're going to coat & double-coat the tops with urethane (satin finish, not shiny) so we won't get unfortunate staining on them like we did last summer. I don't mind a bit of wear, but the spilled beverages and (I think) berry juice did not serve us well. Or whatever it was that made the long table top look so - - sad.
Dinner out, with Ivarr, rounded out our evening and took us into an hour of TV watching and now Bossman is abed and I'm debating doing the same or staying up and working on my newest gown. I have to inset sleeves - I hate doing that. I mis-cut the sleeves and have had to piece, and re-piece, additional gussets into them so they fit right. I hope they are roomy enough, but only sewing them in and trying it on will tell. Please, let them fit - I've run out of extra fabric! I'll have to remove two skirt gores if I need to re-work the sleeves.
The gown is teal. I'm embroidering on it in white, gold, and pink (yes, pink) as those colors give the greatest contrast. It is going to be very pretty. Not on me - no, be real - but the gown will be pretty!
