UPDATE on Owie

It still hurts, but not as much. Elevation, ibruprofen, and ice packs have reduced the swelling to negliable and the pain to barely-noticable. So unless it flares into something really bad all of a sudden, that is it for the medicos.
In the meantime, I have learned that it doesn't much appreciate what it has to do while I drive. I'm very glad that I have an automatic - I don't even want to think about what it'd feel like if I had to deal with a clutch. The gas pedal was sufficient to encourage me to hie my tuchus home as quickly as possible and swallow down some more Motrin. And maybe take a nap.
