Dang. After all the good advice about tick repellent posted in the comments on my previous message, I was really going to go. But then, prompted by my inner adult, I called my Oncologist for his advice. And it was pretty clear - as long as I am taking the Gleevec, I should avoid introducing complex chemicals into my system, which exposure to the bug repellent would be - not to mention the chance of catching any tick-born diseases and their treatments... now, for you regular folks, that would not be a problem. You should go! I just happen to have some additional risks with my liver and such, and while he doesn't know for sure, there being no study of the effect of any of that on a drug-weakened liver, I'm going to bow to his advice and deny myself the pleasure of the day.

Dang it. Damn it. I was so excited about being able to hang with "my people". Damn it.

And now I'm going to go have a little cry.
