My "search and destroy" shopping trip was far too successful. I destroyed a big chunk of this month's spendable cash.

But...

The barony now has 200 feet of camp fencing, in baronial colors. It isn't all fancy-dancy, but it is going to be easy to see in the dark and the day, and packs down small and relatively light. And if the barony likes it, they can reimburse me and own it. I didn't ask for permission to buy the stuff, you see, so Bossman and I are going to have to eat the cost. But I don't regret it because the group has been noodling about the 'camp wall problem' for a couple of years, now, and no one has ever done anything to solve it. This is a step forward and we can build off of it for next year, if folks like it. If they don't, then Arni and I have a nice barrier fence that we can lend to others as needed. Tir-Y-Don might want to use it for crown Tourney, maybe, since the set up (white poles, green & blue rope) are in the same colors of heraldry as they use.

And we also now have a new propane tent heater, and a collapsable red wagon (like Sophia's actually, without the sunshade). It's this one: http://tinyurl.com/3vgzeh4 . It holds 150 lbs, which means that *I* can make the water and ice runs without having to ask someone else to do them. You have no idea how happy that makes me. (Come to think of it, some of you probably DO have an idea of how happy that makes me.) Bossman isn't happy with either the heater or the wagon purchase and gave me the hairy eyeball over them, but I weathered his disapproval since now that I have them, I don't dread the camping nearly as much as I have been for the last couple of fall seasons. Especially camping at War of the Wings. I tell you, I have the hardest time making myself go to that, just because of the physical challenges there. But every year they make improvements. Ice available on site! My god, is that an improvement! And if the rumor is true about water being available closer than the farmhouse, that is going to really rock my world. And now I have a little strong wagon that can carry both of those items, nah, nah, so I can fetch them myself and not have to skimp on cold-stored foods or dishwashing. I'm so relieved about that. Even if the water is only available down at the farmhouse, I can get there and back again without any trouble. I may have to rest a bit, but I won't be putting anyone else out. That is so grand.

The printer now has new color ink cartridges, and there are groceries waiting to be put away (or to be cooked), cheques deposited at the Credit Union, medicines re-stocked and three new types of cider set aside for trying out at the event. Boy, am I glad I stopped off at Total Wine and More. They had Scrumpy! They had a new line of Sparkling Ciders, and a bottle of some sort of cider imported from France. I can't wait to taste them all. I don't believe I've had a choice between "dry", "semi-dry" and 'sweet" ciders before. Oh, and I bought a six-pack of pear cider too. They looked for Perry for me but that wasn't available at all, darn it.

And all of that is going to wait on the table for me to put away. I'm tired and think it's computer time!
