Apr. 30th, 2012 01:56 pmI still haven't gotten the hang of inserting pictures and then adding more text underneath, so rather than messing with it, I just closed the previous entry and started this one anew.
Work on the edging of the hood continues. I didn't get as much done as I expected to but since that was due to a nice phone call with Gise, I didn't really care. I can always work on the hood. Can't say that about chatting with friends (or SCA bosses)! We had a lovely afternoon at Izzy & Aradd's, then came home to a few hours of Losing Loadem (a 15th-century betting game that resembles the modern Spades or Hearts). We were starving, starving I tell you, on the way home from Izzy's house, so popped in to Hardee's and picked up chicken strips for ourselves and our card-playing guests. I am constantly amazed at the low number of carbs in the average deep-fried chicken strip. I expect it to be much higher than it is. They aren't a frequent menu item for me, so each time I indulge it is a pleasant surprise to record numbers at about half of what I feel they should be.
The sun is shining through the windows, calling me outside. I haven't gone outside, of course, as I'm messing around on my computer instead, but I expect I'm going to cave in soon... yesterday wasn't as comfy as we'd hoped and the rain on the day before has made me kinda hungry for some benevolent sun. At any rate, there will have to be outside-going, since I have housework to do that will necessitate visits to the trashbin. A clean kitty box waits on no man.
My day's schedule is light and homebound; write up Heraldic notifications for submitters, wash/dry/fold laundry, compile the results of a straw polling, do dishes to create a clean counter so I can bake more cookies (bribes) for this weekend... nice, normal stuff.
