I posted this on Facebook but thought I'd ask here too. For those of you familiar with Spinal stenosis - does it harm a person to 'push' standing and moving around past the point of discomfort/pain? I ask because that's my GP's best guess as to what is going on but I won't see a specialist until after New Year's... and you know the holiday shopping & cooking season. I don't know if I ought to be a wuss and sit down every time I start to hurt, or tough it out (my preference) until I *have* to sit down.

In case anyone wonders, I've already sent a message to my GP via [I love it] MyChart, but when I was in his office and asked the same question he let it slide by, twice, without answering - but that was before the Xrays were taken and the nerve pinch was seen so I can understand his sidestepping. Now we know what's up. "Disc space narrowing is seen at L4-5 and L5-S1" which means "pinched nerve". But other than rest, I don't remember anything about how to live with it. It isn't as though, considering this is going to be life-long, I should take to my bed for weeks on end and it will cure itself. The bone is encroaching on the nerve. "Rest" isn't going to address that.
