stitchwhichYesterday afternoon my student asked me if I thought giving bags of candy as 12thnight gifts was tacky. I told her I didn't think so, as I have done it myself, and then she relaxed and said she was glad to hear it with our local 12thnight celebration coming so soon.

Next Saturday. Next Saturday! O.M. G. I've nothing prepared except for one gift. One. So today I scurried from store to store, buying small bags to decorate and stuff with... candy. Candy and little toys. Because that is what you do when you have a short amount of time to come up with about sixty gifts or so.
Normally I plan better and prep throughout the year. But I have to admit, with the drain brought on by my physical challenges, I've been slack about it and, well, uninspired. It will be different next year. But right now I feel pretty embarrassed by it all.
