Well, firstest, of course, is that Their Majesties gave Arni a writ to be inducted into the Order of the Pelican. So now I can stop hiding my face-splitting grins around him. *And* on the way home, Mister "I just want camp clothes so I can work" burst out after a moment of silent driving with, "Oh no! Now I'm going to have to dress better!" Heh. (Really he's been upping the quality of his garb over the last couple of years. Or rather, I have and he's been enjoying it rather than fighting me over it like a fish on a hook.) Heh. So. Every once in a while since Court, he's stopped whatever he's been doing, looks thoughtful, and then smiles and shakes his head. It's really fun to be on this end of the process.

I got to take care of the Marinus sideboard on Saturday. So many people brought so much good food! And Their Excellencies let me set up a little wash-station next to my propane stove so I kept the plastic spoons and paper bowls hidden and served people soup in real bowls with real spoons (not to mention had a way to wash the hospitality cups) and it made the whole thing SO much better for me. I doubt anyone else cared, but I loved it. I'm going to ask if I can do the same thing for Ymir. Baroness Izzy (that was so wwrong. Did you flinch my dear?) came and found me and gave me the cutest big chocolate penguin with little baby penguins inside it's hollow body. I tried a c-section on the thing but it died on the table so the next thing I knew, there was a need for a bowl to put all the chocolate chunks in. What a thoughtful surprise. And I got to give chocolate to friends and that made it even better. I do wish that the foil penguin cover, so carefully saved in its original shape, had not gotten up and walked away from the table, though. I was gonna take it home, darn it.

Did I mention that Arni is gonna be a Pelican? heh. And he was totally surprised. He said when he saw Fritz searching, he figured it was for someone from Caer Mear and he just sat there trying to think of who he thought was close enough to be tapped.

Today was a public fighter's practise at Mt. Trashmore and some of the Tir-Y-donians shook off their post-Crown exhaustion to come join us (THAT was fun!). Man, *I* was not wanting to get back into garb and go back out into the cold. I can't imagine making the tunnel-traffic drive to the park but I'm sure glad they did. And doubly-glad that Cordelia and family brought their table and coleman stove and shared hot drinks with everyone. And I got to sit and natter with Izzy and Melissa (the newbie with the baby who likes blackberries) and Thyre. I'm so glad I overcame my blah-don't-wanna-move because it was worth it.

And last, for Tara,

I don't get many pictures of me taken so this is from my laurelling. Now you know one face to put to the name.
