Welp, it appears that I was bitten by 'a venomous insect, probably a Brown Recluse'. It gets a point for starting this whole thing. I get a point because it has been at least 2 years since the bite and there was no adverse affect on my system beyond a coin-sized scab and (underneath) a little 'dent' where the flesh has apparently died. Given what *could* have happened, I'm pretty happy with my immune system right now. Treatment, of course, is still up in the air. I'm taking sulfa-drugs to ensure that the infection caused by messing with it clears up and then it's just a case of figuring out where to go from here. I believe I'm going to veto the "surgical removal of surrounding tissue" idea because as far as I can see, it just means a bigger scar. Seems to me, what I need to be doing is working on filling that little hole with nice, healthy tissue invaders from the surrounding area.
Yeah. I like that idea best.
