After the repair men left (poor lone guy had to call in reinforcements. Seems our last repairperson re-wired bits of the system backwards!) the house cooled down and my state of tired/slightly heat-exhausted caught up with me. I slept. About 22 hours since this this time yesterday, to my reckoning. Wow. But now - I'm AWAKE!

I've got a list of things to do and I'm gonna do them. Most of it involves running around taking care of Pennsic staff orders that have to be done here and transported there. Some of it is my own Pennsic-prep. Which, now that I feel alive again, is growing in my mind to include sewing and other stuff. "Other stuff" included sitting at my kitchen table last night helping Opi by taping off ropes. He's a good boatswain-mate sort of guy who can splice ropes really well and he's making eye-splices for a set of all-new ropes for my little roman wall tent. That's 18 ropes, plus spares. He said the slowest part was the measuring and taping prep so I started to do that to help. And found that being a "creative fiber person" meant that I could crank those puppies out at a really fast rate. So now all the ropes are prepped and he's coming over this evening to splice and weave. I'm going to get him to show me how to finish the ropes post-splicing (getting rid of the ends that stick out of the weave) and do that.

But it's July. And I haven't sewn yet or had the pre-Pennsic sewing panic. So I must do some token sewing, if only to maintain sisterhood. Right? (I'm bringing my normal project to the event - a gown I'd like to wear to Halvgrim's "Viking immersion" event this fall.)

[livejournal.com profile] duchessmel, don't go to http://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/equilibria.jsp
because you will get addicted. And so will any number of my other friends. :)

I spend far too much time there as my 'reward' for tasks completed. Heh
