Jul. 14th, 2012 12:51 amBeen working on finishing the knock-down chest for Pennsic. It is slated to hold my clothing... I decided to continue with the habit of edging 'my' chests with black, since it is so easy to touch-up a ding or scrape on them with a simple sharpie pen. No need to worry about matching stains or anything.
So. Here's the long side of the chest. It is not completely finished, of course, as I still have to urathane the thing. (This is NOT a quality item. As you can tell. Otherwise, as my sweet Bossman would do, I'd use period finishes and such. This, poor thing, is a knock-down, drag-out working chest of not-period design, which is handy as heck and has been sitting around the house waiting for finishing for a few years now. I'd been putting if off because I no longer cared for the way the top was designed, but with the aid of a good flat pillow, that will not be noticable to the guests who sit on it.)
